About
What is Mostly Comedy? It is many things: an idea, a way of life, a delicious sandwich at “Sandwich King Sandwiches & More”… but mostly it’s a podcast hosted by Andy Fleming & “Andy’s Richter,” Katrina Murrell where comics can get together and get real gay about comedy. Each week, Andy & Katrina have on friends, colleagues, honored guests, or Corey Reppond to discuss the ins AND outs of comedy, or, really, whatever else comes up. We also play original games with our guests, and are often joined by various characters. SPOILER ALERT: Hilarity ensues. Notable guests have included Paul F. Tompkins, Kyle Kinane, Dominic Dierkes of Derrick Comedy, and Ringling Bros. clown Larry Clark.
In 2010, Mostly Comedy won the Howling Monkey Podcast of Distinction award. More to come.
Straight off the streets of upper-middle class Memphis comes Andy Fleming, one of the brightest young stars of comedy today. Andy brings his unique perspective– on everything from pop culture to relationships to the higher times– to the stage with an energy usually only seen in bathrooms where people are doing coke or in any conversation with Quentin Tarantino. Andy began doing stand-up in 2006, and quickly became one of the front-runners of the growing Memphis comedy scene. Andy is also a member of award-winning improv comedy troupe The Wiseguys, which no doubt fuels the fact that you never quite know what’s going to come out of his mouth (although there’s a chance it could be saliva. First three rows = splash zone!). He has opened for comics like Paul F. Tompkins, Rich Vos, and Vic Henley, not that he thinks you’d be shallow enough to care about such things. In 2009, Andy won Big Funny Productions’ “Funniest Person In Memphis” contest, a contest only slightly more important and legitimate than the annual Tallahassee Poetry Slam. Shortly thereafter, Andy started comedy-talk podcast Mostly Comedy with fellow comic Katrina Murrell. Andy enjoys long walks on the beach, the solo work of Paul McCartney, and writing about himself in the third person.
Katrina “Miss Ladypants” Murrell from Memphis, TN, has performed all over the south doing stand-up comedy. A prolific writer, punctual performer and kind of annoying co-host of the Mostly Comedy podcast, she even tried improv once, but didn’t inhale. Not your typical southern lady mother, she’s a self proclaimed “odd critter” who views life on a slant. Whether bemoaning the trials of the feminine condition or lambasting words for not meaning what she thinks they ought (words like “lambast”), she’s never frightening at all. A regular all around Memphis and Nashville, she’s worked with Kerry White, Mo Alexander, and once got a hug from Pauly Shore.

“Were you the one with the joke about the baby? That was pretty funny.”-Drunk Girl
